Niranjana Swami's Quote Of The Day

March 24, 2010

To become empowered means to become an instrument of the Lord. Therefore Lord acts through such devotees, who are giving up all personal concern and voluntarily renouncing such materialistic tendencies for the service of Krsna.

When the devotee experiences the nectar of Lord Caitanya sankirtana movement, then he realizes just how fortunate he is. When he actually realizes that this life can be his last sojourn in the material world and how greatly fortunate he is to have in come in contact with the Lord by the mercy of the Lords devotee. That such a fortunate person will simply think how to go out to make others fortunate. So we should all try to become fortunate.

Once the seed of the Holy Name has been planted in one's heart, once a little taste, even unknowingly, is planted in the heart for the Holy Name of the Lord, and the desire for achieving the full benefit, the actual fruit of love of Godhead, then one begins to cultivate the desire to taste that fruit. That is the fruit which Lord Caitanya came to give.

We are chanting Hare Krsna. Why? To chant Hare Krsna. Why? Because  our perfection is to chant Hare Krsna. Kirtaniya sada hari. Perfection is to always be absorbed in chanting the holy names of the Lord. Therefore the means and the end are the same.

It is not that easy to always have Krsna in the mind. We have explained so many times that first Krsna has to agree to appear. We can’t demand anything from Krsna. We can’t even demand that He appears in our mind. If He doesn’t want to enter into our mind - that’s His choice. We have to attract Him.

Rightful inheritance means that if one has an inheritance left behind from his parents, the only thing one has to do in order to get what rightfully belongs to him is to live. That’s all. It’s rightfully his. Just live and one will get it. So in the same way a devotee who tolerates all kinds of adverse conditions, who continues to engage in Krsna’s service and continues to glorify Krsna receives his inheritance… [mukti-pade sa daya-bhak]. All he has to do is to live and he will get it.

If we placate to the whims of those who are looking for substance then we are neither helping them nor ourselves. So in order to give substance we have to have substance.

Those, who are fully engaged in serving Krsna are always expanding Krsna's glories. Expanding Krsna's glories also means expanding Krsnas service. Therefore by associating with those who expand Krsna's service, we become engaged in Krsna's service. We can directly perceive how they are fully engaged in Krsnas service by becoming their servants.
