Bhaktivinoda Thakur explains that Haridas Thakur taught by his example three very important principles to be followed by those who follow in the footsteps of previous sadhus. The first, is that one must always be determined, in all circumstances, that "Yes. I must be determined to execute my duties in this world while remembering the Lord. The second is to never give up the chanting of Hare Krishna. The third principle is to be compassionate towards all other living beings.
